Teetering on the fence of Spring - One Stop Poetry

I sit here wondering when it will come?
Hoping I don't miss the explosion of color,
Once this ice and snow melts
Again, we are wearing Mother Nature White.

Fashionable, perhaps.
Seasonal, perhaps.
Wanted, I speak for myself.  No.
Mother Nature has once again, handed me her hand me down whites.

Blustery, chilly, ice, snow, freezing rain,
Words I have become to hate and shiver as if hypnotized to do so
Where is the sun?  Can't it tease us with a showing?
Of course not with all of this snow blowing.

With  one hand, my coffee  to warm my palm and fingers,
I type words that soon will be gone from everyone's vocabulary
Hopefully I will feel the sun's loving rays
and soon feel like I have been reborn

  1. oh i so can not wait until spring...i need that least you have coffe eh? so dont want any more white stuff...nice write.

  2. Hi Brian,

Thanks for sledding by... lol I am a screaming maniac in the house this morning. We are in one of the worst blizzards in years. Help me CALGON take me away. ( Am I dating myself with that jingle??)

  3. Speaking from the heart of winter myself, I just want to say your words capture the feeling of cold exhaustion so well.

  4. Thank you! I see you know what I am talking about. It has been a long, cold, snowy, winter.

Hope we can both dig out soon!

    Thanks for stopping by!

  5. I awoke this morning to a blanket of white, and just when all had melted from before...mother nature, such a prankster.

  6. Hi David!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Long time no talk to. Everything ok with you??

Yep... more snow... she is a fooler, that one

    Nice to see you again!

  7. Spring has been a long time coming. Really enjoyed the read hun, deep and melancholic but hopeful

  8. Spring is just around the corner. Shame it is a sharp bend and a steep slope hey? I too am looking forward to the renewal of life.

  9. This game of the seasons
    Been around so long
You'd think we'd be use to it
    Speeding up, slowing down
    Here comes the green
    Now it's brown
But now we're messin' with it, too
    Chinese factories and cars belching
Noxious fumes that upset the balance
    Everybody's in a hurry
    As the American dream dies
Nobody's ready for the new dream
    Or is it a nightmare?
    No earth connection
    No vision
    Just the silly human race
    Thinkin' everything will be OK
    When our guys get elected.

  10. After your words i felt, I love the sun and live for the day when it is not reflected by snow anymore.

  11. I too cannot wait for the explosion of color. Spring is on it's way and this made me feel hopeful that it will be with us VERY SOON. It's still very cold in Chicago brrrrrrr....
