Pot luck Monday -Buildings-Monuments- Bricks

Please have a voice for us.
We live in abandoned buildings
No food, no water, no love
Can you afford another mouth to feed?

We promise to be good
We'll even police your yard!
There are no warm blankets for us
Just the cold cement floor of this building

There are some of us who have suffered
at the hands of people who beat,
starved , even chained us
However, we survive

Take a moment to look into our eyes
Find us a home with children who like to play ball
Don't buy expensive pets
We promise to show you how loyal we are.

We plead through people like you
Who care, you are our voices
Look for us in your abandoned buildings or yards
We are looking for you.

There are many local shelters, or people who foster pets and promise to find them loving homes.   This is just one of them -Rescue
If you can, rescue your next pet...

Picture was given to me from Kelly at the Mutthutt

  1. your perspective is so very creative, it is divine to give the solid building a voice.

    Thanks for sharing with potluck..

Do visit me to feast on fresh Haikus..

  5. Thank you for your choice of topic :o)

  6. smiles. thank you for this...there are so many animals that need a good home...and someone to love them...more than the ones that had them...

  7. I already have a kitty and dog, and we live in a small apartment, so no room for any more pets. I really liked your poem and concern for them. May they all find good happy homes.

  8. All of our animals are rescues the dogs from human society and the cats well most of them have been feral that we adopted before the age of weening. This is an important statement you make I hope you get lots of hits on this!

  9. Dear Wysteria..
You have the knack seeing the things that are all there all around.. you took up this topic and changed into a beautiful plea.. in such simple and beautiful words...I liked it so much.. thanks for your poem.

    Beautiful poem...

  11. Hello Everyone,

Thank you so much for leaving a little note for me. Your words are very kind. I can see you are also sensitive to this issue about animals. Just for the record, I have dogs and cats. Oh. and I can make a list of animals we took in that no one else wanted. Luckily I have the room and in an area that I can do so.

Hopefully, someone will read this and do the right thing.

    Thank you everyone.

  12. This theme is getting broad poems of all different styles and messages. Good job.

  13. Awww, poor dogs! I'm a cat person myself, but your plea and the expressions on those dogs' faces make me want to get a pet dog now (don't know if it's allowed in my apartment building though).

Your take on the theme is simply creative and inspired! :)
