I sketch a woman, one with no shame

Beautiful, statuesque and  free of inhibitions

Her perfection evident, I draw what I wish to be

Each placement of the pencil planned

There are never any eraser marks

A self portrait, this dream inside my head

For a moment, when complete, I pretend

It is a vision of me

  2. perfection is found in being comfortable with ourselves, not some image the media portrays...nice sketch..and tight words, almost read like a confession...nice one shot!

  3. So many misconceptions about the "shell" of our being makes us self-conscious, wishing to be of that likeness. Over-weight, under-weight we try to idealize ourselves to it. I've had a hard time in my life accepting the skin I'm in as I let the "cliques" growing up effect me. I do believe it is the soul within that is most beautiful of any far beyond the surface. ~ I also feel that the soul is part of the chemistry in attraction. (when it comes to something REAL of love) ~ Incredible sketch and writing =) got me thinking...great One Shot! ~April

  7. Inhibitions can be freed in visual as well as written art, but no one is perfect... and that is just our uniqueness shining through to the world... :) heartspell

  8. Your art both the drawing and the poem is made up of clean lines, truth, and honesty. It is elegant in design and execution. Nothing can be better than that. Thank you, Gay @beachanny

  9. Very clever - free of inhibitions, wouldn't that be wonderful. I watch my daughter as she plays and experiences this world, showing her joy for everything so openly and wonder, when will it all change? Because change it will and I shall miss these days of transparent wonder.

  12. To be without shame is a wonderful thing, though it won't come from the statuesque body... I liked your poem, tight, well-written.

  13. Beautiful- drawing and words. I used to sketch nudes, I think for the same reason. I've had the urge to work at that again, as I need another way to be loving to my body. Thank you for sharing!
